The Prime Minister visited the Income and Sales Tax Department, and during the visit he listened to a number of customers who thanked the department for the speed in providing services.

The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department said in an interview with Al-Mamlaka TV about the visit of the President to the department today that the sudden visits are certainly more realistic and credible because they diagnose the real reality, as during the visit there were no accumulated transactions or Queues for department customers, and this is a result of the development and modernization that the Income and Sales Tax Department has pursued in providing electronic tax services.

He said that the most important feature of the Income and Sales Tax Department in the reform programs is that a large part of its services is dedicated to improving services for taxpayers, as the number of electronic services provided by the department was 17 services before 2020, and now the number of electronic services has become 35 tax services. All the services that are provided to the taxpayers in person, the taxpayer can obtain them electronically, and this is clear from the absence of customers or crowding in the department because most of the taxpayers obtain their services electronically.

With regard to the invoicing regulation, the Director General said that the invoicing regulation is one of the important regulations in the application, as the legislative and regulatory framework for invoicing has been developed. As for the tender, there is cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship to complete the offering of this tender before the end of this year, and This regulation shall be used in the process of regulating the market and detecting any violations in connection with the operations of buying and selling and providing services.

The Director-General, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, said that during the Prime Minister’s visit to the department, the Prime Minister was informed of the department's performance in terms of audit efficiency, auditors' efficiency, collections efficiency, and the achievement of the target figures, as the target number was collected in the budget, and that the collections are positive and exceed what has been collected. And Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, regarding the refunds, indicated that there is interest from the government in the refunds, because they are one of the tools that re inject this money into the national economy and thus move the market, which returns to the treasury with positives. The sales tax law draft was discussed with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan Chamber of Industry. This law will enable the reduction of the legal deadlines stipulated in the law and enable the Refund all requests submitted for refunds through the amounts collected and not as currently applied through the allocations that are allocated for this purpose.
