The department called on all taxpayers to consider submitting income tax returns for their year of income verified during the year of 2020 electronically.

It stated that taxpayers holding tax numbers who are not subscribing to e-government services can get a password that enables them to usethe department services electronically without visiting the department, by entering the department’s website, then choosing the electronic services icon, and then choosing the address of  New user, so the taxpayer can enter the user name that is the tax number and complete the rest of the steps to get the password that enables them to submit their tax returns electronically and use all the electronic services provided by the department within safe and secure procedures that ensure the identity of the taxpayer and maintains the confidentiality of the information for them.

It indicated that in the event of losing or forgetting their password to use the electronic services provided by the Income and Sales Tax Department, they can retrieve it electronically without having to visit the department and within safe procedures.

The department has updated the income tax returns for the fiscal year 2020 and placed them on its website on the e-government program for all categories of taxpayers, including employees, individuals, companies, and development zones. It has been updated to comply with the legal amendments made to the Income Tax Law No. 34 of the year 2014 regarding taxpayers incomes during the fiscal year 2020.

The department called on the taxpayers to take into account that these returns shall be filled out with real and correct information that expresses their real and correct incomes.

It is reported that the department has provided the registration service and the issuance of an electronic tax number for employees, individuals and companies within the system of electronic services that the department provides to its taxpayers through its website. This procedure comes to make it easier for citizens without having to visit the departments directorates and centers personally .
